Greetings from New York City

Greetings from New York City.

Have you ever wondered how department stores end up selecting the home and bedding product you see in stores? Textile Market in New York City is where it all starts. Buyers from all the major department stores are here this week shopping for the upcoming season.  We have the opportunity to take those buyers through the designer showrooms to see what's expected to be hot for the upcoming Fall season.  That’s right – we already are selling merchandise for next Fall.
The buyers are seeing some of the same designs you'll see in the Fall on Beddingstyles.com.
Unfortunately, I can’t show you the merchandise yet. Sorry! But I can give you a behind the scenes tour of the Tommy Hilfiger showroom so you can get a feel for the mood the designer tries to establish.

The theme in theTommy Hilfiger Home showroom  is “Eclectic Country Estates.” Here’s what the buyers saw when they came through the showroom.

First, as you walk towards the two rooms, you are greeted by this handsome character.  The decorating accents around the room help explain why the theme is eclectic.

As you move towards the first showroom , you pass by this amazing bookcase – I love how the back is done in fabric – as well as other little design features to catch your eye.

As you enter the first showroom you see this fun display, which is set up in the middle of the room. The cello on the wall overlooks the city from the 30th floor of the building.

I love this shot as you enter the second showroom – what an inviting entrance.  The designers were very creative with the chandelier, tying everything together with the use of the same pattern from the bookshelf. Check out the walls and the great way the designers created visual interest just by using frames.

I always find the showrooms to be inspiring and can’t wait to see what the designers come up with.

I hope you have enjoyed the tour of the Tommy Hilfiger Home showroom. Next week I will have another designer showroom to share for all of you.

Have a great week
